We hand craft all of our products from scratch using only pure, top quality pharmaceutical or food-grade Non-GMO gluten-free ingredients. We DO NOT purchase base lotions or soaps then simply add a few additional ingredients and call them our own. Our recipes have been formulated using only plant-based oils and butters and unrefined beeswax. Occasionally we offer soaps made with honey or whole goat's milk which will be noted.

The olive oil that we use is either the first or second cold-pressed olive oil and not Olive Oil Pomace. Olive Oil Pomace is the last extraction using chemicals and is much cheaper. We don't use Pomace, thereby ensuring you the highest quality product.

We do not add water to our lotions, which alleviates the need for artificial preservatives and emulsifiers. So, you'll only need to use a smaller amount of our lotions versus those with water. In addition, you'll use fewer applications to obtain superior results.

Our vegetable glycerin is certified USP Kosher pharmaceutical grade and not a by-product of Biodiesel. Many consumers may not realize that some companies obtain their vegetable glycerin as a byproduct of Biodiesel manufacture because, again, it is much cheaper. It may be tainted with chemical residue.

Our products retain the natural aromas of the oils from which they're made. We do not add chemicals to modify or remove these scents unlike many other companies. For example, one study examined 174 of the best selling moisturizers from Amazon, Target and Walmart and found that a full 45% of the moisturizers labeled "Fragrance Free" contained fragrance chemicals or fragrance masking chemicals, even though "Fragrance-free" means that fragrance materials or masking scents are not used in the product. "Unscented" generally means that the product may contain chemicals that neutralize or mask the odors of other ingredients.

We do not use artificial preservatives like Parabens.  “Of greatest concern is that parabens are known to disrupt hormone function, an effect that is linked to increased risk of breast cancer and reproductive toxicity,” reports the non-profit Campaign for Safe Cosmetics (CSC). 

​

In addition to other studies, CSC cites a 2004 British study that detected traces of five parabens in the breast tumors of 19 out of 20 women studied. It is important because it detected the presence of intact parabens—unaltered by the body’s metabolism—which is an indication of the chemical’s ability to penetrate skin and remain in breast tissue.”  CSC reports that parabens have also been linked to reproductive, immunological, neurological and skin irritation problems.

Health advocates are pressuring the FDA to ban parabens in products sold in the U.S.—like the European Union did in 2012—but concerned consumers must take matters into their own hands for now by reading product labels and avoiding products with parabens.

Because we use natural Essential Oils, the scents may vary slightly due to the various microclimates in which the plants grew. This means that a lotion produced one year may vary slightly in scent from a lotion made another year even though the formula is exactly the same.

Similar to fine wines.

It also explains why a lotion may vary slightly in scent from a soap which uses the exact same Essential Oils. Soap also undergoes great variations in pH as it cures which can affect the scent in the final product.

Our handcrafted soap is weighed and packaged after being allowed to cure for 6-8 weeks.

As the bars cure they continue to lose water weight and shrink which may result in a slightly lighter weight than when initially packaged.  (Please note: the use of water is necessary in making soap but is not detrimental because of the soap's natural pH.  However, incorporating water into lotion necessitates the addition of synthetic preservatives  - which we avoid).   We use a water discount when making our soap in order to alleviate the weight variation as much as possible. This results in a mild, harder, longer lasting bar, with a very rich lather.

Our soaps are hand cut so actual weight may vary slightly from that shown in the picture.

Ultimately, we feel that you are receiving a far superior product than those which use artificial means for aesthetic purposes.
